Bio Often compared to early Gwen Stefani and Alanis, Simone continues to break convention with her own unique style. Influenced by the underground Detroit scene as well as the post-pop alternative sounds of Amsterdam, Simone remains in a class all her own.

Classically trained, Simone spent years honing her craft while drawing upon her real-life experiences to aide her in creating her own style. The youngest of three, Simone was raised in her mother’s strip bar in Detroit. Musically, Simone writes lyrics that are catchy in the sense that they are easy to relate to, yet often painful for her to admit.

Growing up with ties to the mob, living among the seedy underbelly of the Detroit underground and enduring the stigma of being born to an African-American father (who left her at a young age) and a feisty French-Canadian mother, Simone weaves fibers of truth, hurt, joy and sorrow throughout her radio-friendly sonic musings. Ahead of her time, our 20-something Simone sells through her merchandise at her shows, grows her fan-base easily on all sides of the ocean and, though wounded from the scars of her troubled life, represents a safety line with which others wish to cling to.
